Artist's Description
We headed to Naples Pier right after a storm to catch the sunset. Everyone heads here to photograph the sunset, but in 2022 Ian damaged it, and it had to close. Naples City Council decided earlier this year(2023) to rebuild in its classic style, seen here. They will be adding in features that will strengthen the Pier to limit damage from future hurricanes. This 135 year old structure is THE iconic landmark in Naples. It stood long before the tourists flocked to this destination, and I wish it many more years!
About Kathi Isserman
My focus has always been on the natural world and its beauty whether it be a dragonfly, flower, frog, or tree bark. When viewing our world, I look at how people and architectural structures fit into it now and in the past. Do they coexist with their natural surroundings or look out of place? To that end, what compels me to take photos is, not only our natural world, but the history we created within it, thus combining my two loves of nature and history.
