Description
The red trees are Saucer Magnolias that did not survive the freeze at the start of their blooms. This area is a little off the beaten path of theTidal Basin. It is the site of George Mason's Memorial in DC. George Mason was a founding father from Virginia. While he did not write the Bill of Rights, his insistence on having it included in the Constitution was critical to the ratification of the US Constitution.
