Description
While in Venice, we took a boat ride to the island of Burano. Burano is known for lacemaking. There are less than 40 lacemakers left, the youngest being in her 60's. I bought a piece of lace made by the youngest lacemaker while there. It is framed and hangs on my office wall. I look at this treasure every day. Lacemaking is a dying art. As an artist myself, I hope that people of Burano can somehow encourage the next generation to create this beautiful art.

I have a vertical photo of this scene. It is now part of a solo exhibition in Columbia Maryland that runs until August 31, 2021. You can purchase both here. The other photo is named Venetian neighborhood and is located in my Italy Collection.
